I wanted to take a moment, post-APhA2025, to introduce myself to anyone who might not know me. It is the honor of a lifetime to serve as APhA’s president. I have spent my life preparing for this leadership role; as a co-owner and CEO of Towncrest Pharmacy Corporation, co-founder and co-owner of Innovative Pharmacy Solutions and professor of pharmacy management and innovation at Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy. 

Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE), Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL), Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN), and Rep. Doris Matsui (D-CA), this week introduced H.R. 3164,  the Ensuring Community Access to Pharmacist Services Act (ECAPS), bipartisan legislation that would ensure Medicare beneficiaries can access select testing and treatment services from pharmacists.

On November 15, DEA announced the extension of current telemedicine flexibilities for prescription-controlled medications through the end of 2025. This includes substances such as buprenorphine and Adderall.
