2026 Award Recipient
Raana Sidky
Raana Sidky is a Pharmacist-in-Charge and Founder of the Travel Health Clinic at Parkview Medical Plaza Pharmacy in Riverside, California, nationally recognized for advancing pharmacist-led immunization and travel health services within community pharmacy practice. She currently serves on the Steering Council of the Pharmacist Professional Group of the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM) for the 2025–2027 term.
An immigrant from India, Ms. Sidky earned her pharmacy degree in Hyderabad before beginning her professional career in the United States with Walgreens in Detroit. She practiced across multiple pharmacy settings, including Longs Drugs, CVS, and Albertsons, gaining extensive experience in retail operations, patient care, and workflow management. In 2012, she transitioned to independent community pharmacy—a setting that aligned closely with her commitment to personalized care, long-term patient relationships, and service innovation.
In 2015, Ms. Sidky became a pharmacy owner, marking a pivotal chapter in her professional journey. During this time, she launched a Travel Health Clinic within a community pharmacy an uncommon and ambitious endeavor at the time. Despite significant regulatory, operational, and financial challenges, she built a pharmacist-led clinical service and transitioned ownership five years later, leaving behind a sustainable and replicable model of preventive care.
Today, Ms. Sidky leads a comprehensive Travel Health Clinic where pharmacists independently assess vaccine needs, interpret titers, provide individualized counseling, and administer specialized vaccines, including yellow fever. The clinic serves multiple patients daily and has become a trusted referral destination for travelers, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
Her work extends beyond travel health to innovative pharmacist-driven services, including immigration-related immunizations, rabies vaccination programs for veterinary students, post–bone marrow transplant revaccination coordination, HIV PrEP immunization support, and free HIV testing paired with personalized vaccine counseling. She collaborates closely with infectious disease specialists, transplant teams, immigration clinics, veterinary programs, faith-based organizations, and public health partners.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Sidky led vaccination efforts at senior centers throughout Riverside, ensuring timely access for vulnerable populations. Through perseverance, innovation, mentorship, and leadership, she continues to elevate independent community pharmacy and advance the pharmacist’s essential role in preventive and travel health care
