APhA–ASP Member Spotlight: Erica Han

Published on Friday, October 3, 2025

APhA–ASP Member Spotlight: Erica Han

Meet Erica Han, a second-year PharmD candidate at the Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy. We recently caught up with Erica to find out more about her APhA–ASP journey.

SPM: Why did you choose to become an APhA–ASP member?

Erica: The reason why I chose to become an APhAASP member is because I wanted to represent all areas of pharmacy. Going into pharmacy school, I was unsure about what type of pharmacist I wanted to be, whether it was going into independent pharmacy or becoming a hospital pharmacist. So, I knew I wanted to join an organization that encompasses all areas of pharmacy. I also joined APhAASP because of all of the amazing leadership opportunities that are provided, whether it’s on a chapter level or national level. Lastly, at my school, the Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy, we truly are a family, and that’s what I also felt when joining APhAASP.

SPM: What is your favorite APhA–ASP member benefit?

Erica: My favorite APhAASP member benefit is all of the conferences that we have the opportunity to attend. APhAASP allows you to grow, connect, and collaborate with student pharmacists around the country.

SPM: What is your favorite APhA–ASP memory?

Erica: My favorite APhA–ASP memory was the 2025 APhA–ASP Summer Leadership Institute! This was my first conference that I went to, and it was such an amazing experience. From exploring Washington, DC, to meeting with the U.S. Senate staffers, to learning in the informative sessions, and everything in between, it felt like I was where I was meant to be in that moment. The friendships I made will last a lifetime! It was also very empowering to be alongside other student pharmacists who are so passionate about bettering the profession of pharmacy.

SPM: If you were a superhero, what power would you have?

Erica: If I were a superhero, my power would be to have a healing touch.

SPM: After a long day of school or work, what do you like to do in the evening to unwind?

Erica: I love to hang out with my friends and family. I also love working out, running, swimming, and playing pickleball, of course.
