If you know me, you know my top pharmacy priorities: payment reform, payment reform, and payment reform.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges, and not just the ones it presented to public health. Pharmacies had their own puzzles to solve.

On October 6, after decades of pharmacy advocates fighting at the federal and state levels to better control drug pricing and protect the viability of community pharmacies, the Justices of the United States Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Rutledge v PCMA, which may finally determine whether states can control terrible PBM business practices.

The APhA Board of Trustees recently took a strong stance in response to a change.org petition that revealed uncomfortable truths about the treatment of women in pharmacy: “APhA is steadfastly opposed to sexism, racism, discrimination, harassment, and intimidation—implicit or explicit—and we are committed to combatting behaviors that undermine any member of our profession.”
