Overcoming impostor syndrome

If you told me 5 years ago, “Victoria, you should run for president for an organization at your school,” I would have looked at you like you were suggesting something preposterous. Today, I sit and can reflect on one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, years of my life, all thanks to APhA–ASP and the platform it provided me throughout my presidency.

Stepping into your most authentic self

When I first started my pharmacy journey in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic was at its highest intensity. I remember sitting at my home desk for what felt like an eternity. I felt extremely isolated, and I was afraid that I would neither be able to achieve my future goals nor be successful in pharmacy school.

Believe in Yourself

When I reflect on the past year, I think of a question I would always get asked: “Do you know your presidential theme?” And for the longest time, the answer was “absolutely not.” That is, until it got to the point in my president-elect year when time was running out and I really needed to choose one as soon as possible.

Take it day by day

As a recent pharmacy school graduate and current PGY-1 executive resident, work–life balance has been incredibly hard to maintain. After dedicating the past 4 years of my life to passing exams, I thought that after I graduated, life would finally slow down.
