Updated respiratory virus vaccine recommendations and influenza clinical considerations now available

As the 2026–2027 respiratory virus season begins, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) have released 2026–2027 recommendations for COVID-19, influenza, and RSV vaccinations. These recommendations provide important guidance to support evidence-based vaccine discussions and help ensure patients receive timely protection against respiratory viruses.

Global pharmacy leaders identify priorities for integrating pharmacists into primary health care

August 28, 2026 (Montréal, QC):  Pharmacy leaders, invited from around the world, gathered in Montréal today for an international forum on advancing pharmacists’ integration into primary health care, where they identified workforce readiness, sustainable funding models, supportive regulatory frameworks and interprofessional collaboration as key conditions for consistent and sustainable integration. The findings will inform a joint CPhA–APhA report intended to support policy development and health-system implementation in Canada, the United States and internationally with FIP.
