Pharmacist tending to the hearing health needs of a patient.

Encountering individuals with hearing loss is a likely scenario in a pharmacist’s daily practice. Approximately 15% of adults in the United States report difficulty hearing1 and the prevalence of hearing loss increases with age. For U.S. adults aged 75 and older, it is estimated that 55% have hearing loss that affects their ability to communicate. Despite a high incidence of hearing loss, hearing aid uptake is relatively low.
