APhA applauds introduction of Senate legislation to ensure senior access to prompt pharmacist care and services

WASHINGTON, DC—This week, Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) and Senator John Thune (R-SD) introduced S. 2477, the Equitable Community Access to Pharmacist Services Act (ECAPS), bipartisan legislation that would ensure Medicare beneficiaries can continue to receive prompt care and services from pharmacists to prevent, diagnose, and treat common infectious diseases.

APhA announces results of 2023 Board elections

WASHINGTON, DC—Today the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) announced the election of Randy P. McDonough, BS, PharmD, MS, BCGP, BCPS, RPh, of Iowa City, IA, as 2024–2025 APhA president-elect. McDonough will succeed Alex C. Varkey, PharmD, MS, FAPhA, of Sugar Land, TX, to the office of APhA president on March 24, 2025, at the conclusion of the 2025 APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition in Nashville, TN.
