Black and white patients within the same health system are subject to very different opioid prescribing behaviors, a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine points out.

When was the first time you heard or became cognizant of diversity? For me, it was a poster full of kids in my first-grade classroom. 

With our nation’s troubled social history and current turbulence, there could not be a better time to address and promote the importance of diversity.

As we head back to school or continue through rotations, I would like to share my journey and the leaps I have taken with APhA–ASP in the hope it will inspire you to start thinking about how you would like to challenge yourself during your own journey this year.
