Cheering and laughter overpowered the room as we all joined together for the APhA–ASP Opening General Session (OGS) at the APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition in March. The crowd filled with excitement as the APhA–ASP National Executive Committee stood together on stage. The journey to this moment has helped build strong relationships and longtime friendships, creating a magical experience that will not be forgotten.

At the start of the late March weekend, the San Antonio Riverwalk streets and local restaurants were filled with pharmacists and students from across the nation as St. Patrick’s Day and the 2022 APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition kicked off. The aroma of local food moved through the crowds and the festive green river flowed as lunch breaks and dinner feasts were held among pharmacy friends both old and new. Back at the convention center, there were successful meetings intertwining networking with cutting-edge knowledge.

 As future health care providers, what can we do to decrease the impact of mental health stigma?

Justice stands on the grounds of fair and equal treatment of all patients, upholding integrity and individuality. Yet there is a disproportionate cultural divide in the health care system, with some bearing the burden of implicit biases and ignorance.
