Meet your 2021–22 APhA–ASP National Executive Committee: Neha Nadkarni, National Member-at-large

LEADERSHIP

Neha Nadkarni is a final-year PharmD candidate at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy.

Hi, everyone! I am incredibly honored and beyond excited to serve as one of your National Members-at-large and expand my "pharmily" this upcoming year. I was born in Mumbai, India; raised in Plainsboro, NJ; and currently attend the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University.

I was first introduced to APhA–ASP in my first preprofessional year, when I had the opportunity to represent Rutgers as the chapter delegate at the APhA–ASP Midyear Regional Meeting and at the 2017 APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition in San Francisco. I left San Francisco inspired and energized and went on to serve as the vice president, president-elect, and president of the Rutgers APhA–ASP Chapter. The Rutgers APhA–ASP Chapter was truly my first pharmily. This past year, I served on the National Standing Committee on Member Engagement, and I have also had the honor of being the first-ever recipient of the Tery Baskin Scholarship through the APhA Foundation Student Scholarship Program.

Some things that bring me joy outside of pharmacy are cooking/baking, learning new languages (I currently know six!), adding to my plant family, dancing, and playing with my goldendoodle, Nico. As a huge foodie, I'm determined to find the best brunch, bubble tea, and Korean barbeque spots wherever I go.

I am also a huge people person, and for this next year am excited to meet and engage with so many of you! I have absolutely loved my time with APhA–ASP thus far, and I cannot wait to see what the upcoming year brings. I look forward to working with the National Executive Committee as well as with each of you and your chapters for an amazing year ahead!
