APhA Issues Statement on Hawaii Wildfires

APhA is saddened by the incalculable losses in Lahaina, Hawaii as the result of wildfires. While it remains too early to evaluate the full extent of the loss, pharmacy has been directly impacted. It is clear that our profession will need to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Hawaii Pharmacists Association and the broader health care community to work to rebuild and ensure that patients have access to medicines and care. APhA is closely monitoring the situation and has reached out to our Hawaii-based members to check on their well-being and individual needs and to offer our support. Additionally, we have been in contact with both the Hawaii Pharmacists Association and the University of Hawaii at Hilo Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy as well as independent pharmacy owners and corporate partners.

APhA will continue to follow the ongoing relief efforts closely and will keep all members appraised of ways in which they can contribute.
