Get to know your 2026–2027 APhA–ASP National Executive Committee: Ethan “E.J.” George, national member-at-large
Ethan “E.J.” George is a second-year PharmD candidate at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy and a 2026–2027 APhA–ASP member-at-large.
What’s up, homies! I currently serve as one of your national members-at-large, and it’s honestly still pretty surreal to say that.
My journey with APhA–ASP has been one of the most impactful parts of my pharmacy school experience. I started out just trying to find a way to get more involved and meet people, and over time, that turned into leadership roles at the chapter, state, regional, and now national level. Along the way, I’ve focused on building community, advocating for student pharmacists, and creating spaces where people feel supported and inspired. A few APhA leaders helped expand my perspective and showed me what was possible, and that pushed me to want to do the same for others.
I’ve been told I have a big personality, and pharmacy is just one part of my identity. A huge part of me is music. I’m an international DJ and music producer, and that creative outlet is one of the main ways I stay grounded and in tune with myself. Whether I’m working on a track in solitude or behind the booth in front of a crowd, that’s where I feel most like me. I also grew up as a multi-sport athlete and ran track and field for 17 years. I think that early exposure to competition, passion, and adversity played a big role in shaping who I am today.
Looking ahead to this year, I’m most excited about meeting and connecting with more student pharmacists across the country. There are so many different perspectives, challenges, and ideas out there, and I want to do my part in making sure people feel heard, validated, and equipped to pursue whatever they set their mind to. I want to be part of the conversations that inspire new career paths or ease someone’s doubts, just like my APhA mentors did for me.
If there’s one thing I hope people take away from my experience, it’s that you don’t have to fit into one box to be successful in this profession. You can and should bring your full self into pharmacy. Your perspective and experiences are your biggest strengths.
I’m looking forward to meeting more of you all soon.
Five questions for E.J.
1. What show are you currently binging and why do you like it?
I just finished South Park from start to finish. It’s hilarious and super clever with its satire. I like that the episodes are short, tied to current events, and easy to watch without having to think too hard. And with 20 plus seasons, it definitely kept me busy.
2. What bucket list item do you want to check off before you graduate?
I want to travel to at least two new countries. I've already been to Japan, Brazil, Jamaica, and Taiwan so far since I’ve started school. Nigeria and Spain are at the top of my list right now.
3. If you had 25 hours a day, how would you spend your extra time?
I’d invest more into creative work like music production, content creation, or building a passion project that can grow long-term.
4. Are you summer, fall, spring, or winter? Please share why.
Definitely summer. The energy is unmatched, the days are longer, and there’s always something going on. My favorite part is the summer nights in California. The weather is perfect! I like just being outside…whether on a walk or chilling at the park.
5. What is your most used emoji and why do you like it?
😭 easily. I use it instead of the laughing emoji because it better captures how funny I think things are. I try to find humor in everything, and my friends are hilarious, so this one gets used a lot.
