What are the top three reasons you joined APhA?

I joined APhA for the community, the support, and the professional development opportunities. I enjoy being a part of a national community of pharmacists who are passionate about advancing the profession.

Do you feel at home at APhA? If so, why?

Yes, APhA is my home. The sense of community is strong, and it’s empowering to be surrounded by colleagues who share a commitment to advancing our profession. APhA creates a welcoming space where I feel supported, valued, and continually inspired to grow both personally and professionally.

How would you say your membership has been valuable to your career?

Being connected with like-minded professionals has fostered collaboration, shared purpose, and a strong sense of belonging. It is reassuring to know there’s an organization consistently championing our role and impact in health care.

In what ways has APhA helped you establish meaningful connections?

Through my involvement in APhA’s Special Interest Groups, I have built a valuable network who openly share their expertise, insights, and clinical experiences. These connections have fostered meaningful collaborations and have been instrumental in my professional growth.

How does APhA help you thrive in your everyday practice?

APhA supports my teaching and practice by offering high-quality resources, a strong professional community, and access to experienced researchers and practitioners. These tools and connections have enhanced my clinical decision making, kept me informed of best practices, and have empowered me to continue to advocate for our student pharmacists and profession. ■

Increasing Access to Hormonal Contraceptive Products Advanced Training Program

Several states allow pharmacists to prescribe hormonal contraceptives to increase and ensure access for patients. APhA’s Increasing Access to Hormonal Contraceptive Products Advanced Training Program offers a self-paced, 4-hour online course packed with education, clinical tools, and current protocols for hormonal and emergency contraceptives—meeting requirements for most states that permit pharmacist-furnished contraception.

Participants will learn about contraceptive products, eligibility criteria, and communicating with patients and other health care providers. The interactive program will also focus on the laws and regulations that allow pharmacists to prescribe and/or furnish hormonal contraceptives.
