In thinking about my own career, one of the reasons I chose pharmacy was the opportunity to collaborate and solve problems while making a difference in the lives of others.

Purpose is the reason we chose this profession, but unity is found in the conversations we have, the compassion we show, and the willingness to meet people where they are.

Being guided by purpose has taught me that leadership isn’t about a title.

Every year, the APhA–ASP national president is tasked with presenting a theme to the collective membership that will define the spirit of their tenure. I am honored to showcase this year’s theme: “Guided by Purpose, Lifted by Unity.”
