APhA awarded FIP Seal for international pharmacy-based immunization training program

Washington, DC — October 7, 2025 — The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) is proud to announce that its Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery International Certificate Training Program has been awarded the FIP Seal by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).

The FIP Seal was recommended by the Consortium on June 5 and ratified by the FIP Bureau in Copenhagen on August 29. This recognition reflects the program’s alignment with FIP’s mission and global criteria for quality, underscoring APhA’s leading role in advancing pharmacist-delivered immunization training worldwide.

“FIP is delighted that the APhA applied for the FIP Seal to assure the global profession of the quality and applicability of the American Pharmacists Association’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery International Certificate Training Program. This program equips pharmacists, students, and pharmacy technicians with the skills to deliver immunizations and advance public health. With over 600,000 trained in the USA and adoption expanding globally, it strengthens workforce capacity and supports FIP’s mission and Development Goals by expanding pharmacists’ critical role in disease prevention and vaccination worldwide,” said Catherine Duggan, PhD, FIP CEO.

Through licensed partners, APhA offers the program in a growing number of countries, expanding pharmacists’ ability to provide critical immunization services and strengthen public health systems across the globe.

“We are honored to receive the FIP Seal for our Pharmacy-Based Immunization Certificate Training Program,” said Dan Zlott, PharmD, BCOP, APhA’s chief education and innovation officer. “This recognition highlights APhA’s ongoing commitment to equipping pharmacists around the world with the skills and knowledge they need to improve the health of our communities by increasing vaccination access to protect people everywhere from vaccine-preventable diseases.”
