Get to know your 2025–2026 APhA–ASP National Executive Committee: Rachel Lucky, national president

Rachel Lucky is a final-year PharmD candidate at the Union University College of Pharmacy and the 2025–2026 APhA–ASP national president.

Hi, friends! It is an immense honor to serve you as the 2025–2026 APhA–ASP national president. Thank you for trusting me to represent you, advocate for you, and support you as you lead your chapters and serve your communities.

I am currently completing my final year of pharmacy school at the Union University College of Pharmacy in Jackson, TN. This past February, as I began my APPEs, my husband Conor and I moved back down the road to Memphis, where I was born and raised. We frequently visit Shelby Farms Park to enjoy sunset walks around Hyde Lake, where we went kayaking on our first date. While I do love Memphis for its famous barbeque, the people are what make it home for me. The constant love, support, and investment from my family and friends shaped me into who I am today.

When a rare moment of free time comes up, I love visiting with loved ones, journaling my thoughts, and playing a game of Just Dance. I usually can be found with sweet tea or a can of Coke in hand. These are my trusty sources of caffeine that get me through each day.

My journey with APhA–ASP began as an undergrad, when a student pharmacist reached out and challenged me to get involved and begin investing time into the organization. This early exposure paved the way for me to explore everything that APhA offers before ever matriculating into pharmacy school. From there, I served as my chapter’s president and made it a priority to engage in experiences such as the Midyear Regional Meeting, Summer Leadership Institute, and APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition. These moments and experiences solidified that APhA is my pharmacy home. Now, 4 years later, I can see the fingerprints of my APhA “pharmily” all over my professional and personal life.

Throughout the remainder of my term and beyond, I hope to continually build deeper relationships with my fellow student pharmacists as we work together to advance the profession and invest in one another. Every moment matters, and I cannot wait for the many moments ahead of us this year!

Five questions for Rachel

1. What show are you currently binging, and why do you like it?

I haven’t had time to commit to a series recently, but I am always down to watch Mamma Mia!

2. What bucket-list item do you want to check off before you graduate?

Attend an SEC football game.

3Which Marvel character is your favorite and why?

Captain America is my favorite Marvel character. While he’s a symbol of strength and leadership, he also operates with humility. He’s fiercely loyal to his team and always stands up for what he believes is right, even when it’s hard.

4. If you could perform at the Super Bowl, what would your opening song be and why?

“Can’t Stop the Feeling” by Justin Timberlake because it’s upbeat, fun, and just makes you want to dance!

5. If you could come up with your own ice cream flavor, what would you put in it?

M&Ms and Oreos.
