Watch for survey of immunization activities in community pharmacies

APhA launches national study to help inform next steps for the profession

APhA is launching a national study to assess the extent to which community pharmacies engage in immunization activities as well as factors that affect the level of engagement. Information from this study will help APhA estimate the availability of pharmacy-based vaccination services in the United States and will inform next steps to further advance the profession in this area. The study is funded by GlaxoSmithKline, and Salisa Westrick of Auburn University is the lead investigator.

If your pharmacy is among the 2,000 randomly selected community pharmacies, we ask that you help us by filling out the questionnaire that will be mailed to your pharmacy this month. Your pharmacy does not have to provide an immunization service to participate.

We thank you in advance for your help. Any questions about the study can be directed to Dr. Westrick at or 334-844-8314.
