Walmart and Express Scripts announced Wednesday they have agreed to a 3-year extension of their network agreement to provide access to the retail giant's prescription services for Express Scripts clients' covered members. According to the companies, the agreement will help both insured and uninsured customers save money on their prescriptions. Additionally, Walmart will participate in InsideRx, a pharmacy-savings program from Express Scripts that provides discounts to uninsured individuals using brand-name medications. For more than a decade, Walmart has operated a program to provide a range of generic medicines for $4. The company, which has more than 4,700 pharmacies, will continue to work with Express Scripts on pricing options for those with no insurance and those who require products not covered by health insurance.
