In an effort to enhance the health and well-being of the communities it serves, Walgreens prioritizes digital transformation, efficiency, health and beauty expertise, and forming local health destinations, according to Walgreens president Richard Ashworth. Ashworth, who assumed his new role in February, is a pharmacist and has been working at Walgreens for 28 years. Since mid-March, he has been overseeing Walgreens' opening of COVID-19 testing sites nationwide and facilitated safe, ongoing services such as new telehealth options on the Walgreens Find Care platform; free home delivery of prescriptions and purchases on Walgreens.com; and collaborating with health plans, physicians, and governments to provide access to medication. He also worked to expand the use of drive-throughs for some health, cleaning, and grocery items. Ashworth says, "I'm still doing some store visits and feel it's very important, especially now, and always want to know how things are going, making sure everyone has what they need to do their job, to do it safely and to be there for our customers and patients. The dedication, care, and commitment I see is truly inspiring."
