Republican members of the House Ways and Means Committee and HHS Secretary Alex Azar met Thursday to talk about reducing drug prices. According to committee chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX), Azar provided an update on efforts the administration has taken with regard to drug prices. "We talked about what steps can Congress take to help lower these prices as well," he said, though he offered no specifics on how Congress might act. Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY) noted the discussion did not "directly" address particular legislation on drug prices, but he said there was a "conversation" about situations in which the administration could require additional authority from Congress.
