ShopRite has announced its support of the Prescription Drug Safety program, which aims to give high school students the information and skills to make sound decisions about prescription medications, as well as the dangers of misusing drugs. The program, developed by education technology innovator EverFi, will be available in 30 high schools across New Jersey. The program features interactive scenarios and self-guided activities that teaches students facts about drugs, how to properly use and dispose of medications, and how to step in when faced with misuse. "As community pharmacists, we are close to our patients and recognize that education and prevention are the keys to preventing prescription drug misuse and abuse," said Jeffrey Mondelli, vice president of pharmacy for ShopRite. "We also know that today's high school students face unique challenges, and this knowledge is critical for them to have."
