Ranier's Rx Laboratory has announced a voluntary recall of all sterile compounded drug products within expiry due to concerns about lack of sterility. The concerns were raised following a routine FDA inspection of the pharmacy. There have been no adverse events reported related to the recall, nor is there any indications the compounded sterile drug products being recalled are actually contaminated. According to Ranier Rx, "This voluntary recall is being conducted out of an abundance of caution and to promote patient safety, which is the pharmacy's highest priority." The recall includes compounded sterile drug products, within expiry, that were dispensed between January 17, 2018, and July 10, 2018. The sterile drug products subject to the recall were distributed only in Pennsylvania and directly to customers and/or medical facilities.
