More than 80% of community pharmacies actively look for drug manufacturer copay coupons to help their patients save money on their medications, according to a recent survey by RxWiki. Efforts include searching on Google, using coupons provided by the manufacturer, or calling local doctor's offices to check if they have any copay coupons available. Pharmacies also indicated they would like a central resource on their website or mobile app to assist in the search for copay coupons. One-half of the respondents said they would be more likely to look for a coupon if it was easy to access on their website or mobile app, citing time constraints as a key reason they do not always search for them. The survey noted that most pharmacies reached out to patients to remind them to pick up their medications—with 93% calling patients, 35% texting them, and 15% emailing them.
