Dear member,
The American Pharmacists Association Board of Trustees today announced the appointment of Sean M. Jeffery, PharmD, of Branford, CT as the incoming APhA Treasurer. Jeffery will serve as Treasurer-Designate until his term officially begins on March 24, 2024, after the APhA2025 Annual meeting and exposition in Nashville, TN. During this transition time, he will work with current Treasurer Greg A. Fox, BSPharm, and APhA staff to gain a full understanding of APhA’s budget, financial operations, and investment portfolio.
“The APhA Board of Trustees congratulates Sean Jeffery on his new role with the association. He will be an excellent successor to Greg Fox, who has given six outstanding years of service as APhA's Treasurer,” stated Alex C. Varkey, PharmD, MS, APhA President. “Sean has both the experience and the diligence necessary to ensure we remain financially sound and fiscally responsible as we continue our work for every pharmacist and for all of pharmacy. We are excited to welcome Sean to the APhA Board of Trustees.”
Jeffery will be responsible for overseeing the Association’s annual budget, monitoring and evaluating the Association’s finances, reporting on APhA’s financial status, coordinating APhA’s Finance Committee, and issuing an annual financial report to Association membership.
Jeffery is currently Director of Pharmacy Services at Integrated Care Partners, a physician-led, clinically integrated network responsible for Hartford Healthcare’s value-based practice transformation. His career has focused on implementing innovative patient care services that promote the value of pharmacists in care coordination. Jeffery is responsible for managing Medicare Part D Star pharmacy quality measures, population health management, and supporting an integrated care-management team and employed medical group.
Jeffery has previously served as a Trustee of APhA and on the APhA Policy Committee. He earned his B.S. from the University of Connecticut and PharmD from The Ohio State University.
