APhA offers a variety of opportunities for board certified ambulatory care practitioners (BCACP) to fulfill recertification requirements.  These unique programs will provide practitioners opportunities to maintain and expand their knowledge and skills in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy.
APhA/ASHP Ambulatory Care Review and Recertification Course:
This course provides a comprehensive review of the most common patient problems in ambulatory care settings.  Patient-centered case scenarios present patients with multiple medical problems as seen in “real life” ambulatory care pharmacy practice and provides the BCACP with strategies to address these problems based on the best available evidence-based medicine.
This course is offered in-person twice yearly and continuously online and can provide up to 16 hours of recertification credit.  NOTE: This course can only be taken for recertification twice within a 7-year recertification cycle in non-consecutive years.

Recertification Literature Study:
The BCACP Recertification Literature Study is an online program that provides BCACPs with articles about current topics in ambulatory care specialty practice.  Each year, selected topics related to one or more of the BPS domains will be presented.  These online articles (available as PDFs or links) are released twice each year.  A minimum of 16 hours of credit will be available each year.

Recertification Intensive Study:
The BCACP Recertification Intensive Study is a live course focused on subspecialty areas and recent advances in ambulatory care pharmacy practice.  Each year, selected topics related to one or more of the BPS domains will be presented.  A minimum of 6.0 hours of recertification credit will be available for participants each year.  To earn recertification credit for the intensive study, participants must attend the live offering and afterward complete and online assessment by the stated deadline.
