CE Option Available! Pharmacists may opt to use the eight
online self-study modules of the OTC Advisor program for professional
development and/or continuing education credit without pursuing the
complete certificate training program.
Promotes the role of the pharmacist as a guide and resource for
self-treating patients
- Enhances pharmacists' skills in communicating with self-treating
patients and other health care providers involved in patient care
- Provides pharmacists with cutting-edge information about
nonprescription remedies for common ailments
- Features online interactive learning modules, live training seminar,
and self-care product demonstration and review
- Discusses and critiques business plans for implementing self-care
services
Program Components:
- 8 online self-study modules and assessment exams (total 18.5 hours;
1.85 CEU)
- 8 hour (0.8 CEU) live seminar with final exam
- Self-care services business plan development

Completion Information:
- Successful completion of the live seminar component involves passing
the final exam with a grade of 70% or higher. Successful completion of
all online self-study learning modules will result in 18 hours of
continuing education credit (1.8 CEU). An additional 8 hours of
continuing education credit (0.8 CEU) will be granted for completing the

- To receive a certificate of achievement for the complete program,
participants must successfully complete both the live seminar and the
self-study components.
