Disease State Management Programs
Earn your Certified Disease Manager (CDM)
designation through the National Institute for Standards in Pharmacist
Credentialing (NISPC) Disease State Management (DSM) Certification
Program. Take the opportunity to demonstrate your advanced patient-care
knowledge and skills. NISPC certifies pharmacists in four disease
states: anticoagulation, asthma, diabetes, and

Specialty Certifications
Board-certification offers many pharmacists
the chance to demonstrate specialized knowledge and achieve a
competitive edge in their careers. The Board of Pharmaceutical
Specialties recognizes five specialty practice areas: nuclear pharmacy,
nutrition support pharmacy, oncology pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, and
psychiatric pharmacy. Licensed pharmacists seeking certification must

Advanced Practice Institute
The APhA Foundation offers the Advanced
Practice Institute (API), a multi-day program for practitioners to hone
their communication and drug therapy management skills. It also offers
advanced learning for pharmacists practicing in ambulatory care
settings.
Participants are provided with the necessary training to engage in
collaborative practices with other health care providers to advance the

The GlaxoSmithKline Executive Management Program for Pharmacy
Leaders
The GlaxoSmithKline Executive Management
Program for Pharmacy Leaders is one of the nation’s first

NEW ONLINE MASTER'S PROGRAM IN PHARMACY REGULATION AND
POLICY
A new
part-time online master's program in Pharmacy Regulation and Policy has
just been launched by the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. The
goal of the program is to educate pharmacists and others to effectively
advocate for the profession, in the public interest, with state and
federal governmental agencies, managed care organizations, and other
non-governmental organizations.The program is a non-thesis masters that
requires 30 academic credits over 22 months of study. It combines the
patient-centered approach of traditional health law masters programs,
with the product-centered approach taken by existing drug regulatory

University of Utah School on Alcoholism and Other Drug
Dependencies
The
University of Utah School on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependencies was
established in 1951 and has continually expanded its scope to keep pace
with the increased awareness of the health and social problems of
alcoholism and other drug dependencies. APhA developed the Pharmacy
Section to provide information, motivation, and guidance to pharmacists
and student pharmacists who are interested in the implementation or
strengthening of state and campus-level programs to help
pharmacists/student pharmacists whose competence to perform their
responsibilities has become impaired due to chemical dependency or other

The
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) develops, maintains,
promotes and administers a high-quality certification and
