New Practitioner Advisory Committee

New Practitioner Advisory Committee Positions and Responsibilities

The New Practitioner Advisory Committee consists of a nationally-appointed body comprised of the following offices: Chair, Vice-Chair, and three (3) Members-at-large. New Practitioner Advisory Committee members serve a term of 1-year (Vice-Chair serves 2 years). The APhA Board of Trustees selects the Committee.

Responsibilities of the New Practitioner Advisory Committee Chair

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Uphold the bylaws, vision, mission, goals, and objectives of APhA
  • Represent the New Practitioner Network on behalf of its membership at-large
  • Maintain regular contact with APhA staff
  • Serve as Liaison to the APhA Board of Trustees and APhA-APPM/APhA-APRS Executive Committees
  • Attend one APhA-ASP Midyear Regional Meeting (MRM), presiding at the MRM Expo and any pertinent presentations
  • Attend the APhA Annual Meeting, presiding over all New Practitioner Network events
  • Preside over the annual New Practitioner Advisory Committee planning meeting
  • Preside over bi-monthly conference calls
  • Serve as a liaison to other pharmacy or health care organizations

Responsibilities of the New Practitioner Advisory Committee Vice-Chair

  • Uphold the bylaws, vision, mission, goals, and objectives of APhA
  • Represent the New Practitioner Network on behalf of its membership-at-large
  • Maintain regular contact with APhA staff
  • Serve as Liaison to the APhA New Practitioner Network Awards Standing Committee
  • Attend one APhA-ASP Midyear Regional Meeting (MRM), presiding at the MRM Expo and any pertinent presentations
  • Attend the APhA Annual Meeting and all New Practitioner Network events
  • Participate in bi-monthly conference calls

Responsibilities of the New Practitioner Advisory Committee Members-at-large (3 positions)

  • Uphold the bylaws, vision, mission, goals, and objectives of APhA
  • Represent the New Practitioner Network on behalf of its membership-at-large
  • Maintain regular contact with APhA staff
  • Serve as Liaison to one of three APhA New Practitioner Network Standing Committees (Communications & Networking, Education & Professional Development, Membership & Involvement)
  • Attend one APhA-ASP Midyear Regional Meeting (MRM), presiding at the MRM Expo and any pertinent presentations
  • Attend the APhA Annual Meeting and all New Practitioner Network events
  • Participate in bi-monthly conference calls
