Serving Los Angeles' numerous needs can be daunting but USC was undeterred. To promote their events they recorded advertisements in multiple foreign languages for radio and placed ads in local newspapers and on 67 buses throughout the city promoting vaccinations. They continued to add variety to their projects, from immunizing state legislators to having children play the role of immunizing pharmacists, to confidential discussion sessions with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender undergraduate students; all are crucial in developing a reputation of trust and commitment for the pharmacy profession. With the help of 690 student pharmacists they were able to immunize over 10,000 patients through 28 patient care events.
