Incorporating an approach to diabetes education that went beyond our borders was key to USC's success. The APhA-ASP Chapter conducted a program called, Project India, which involved training 52 student pharmacists from 4 different universities in India.  The purpose of this training to was to share our knowledge to the improve the lives of others around the globe…teaching students how to screen and counsel for diabetes. These students, in-turn, participated in 7 health fairs and screened and educated more than 1,000 patients for diabetes.
