ACTIVITIES
Leadership Conferences
Description of activity
Leadership conferences are designed to enhance both individual and group
leadership skills and provide opportunities for networking. Speakers may
include CEOs and VPs of health organizations or professional
organizations, legislators, and community leaders. An interactive
workshop familiarizes students with important leadership skills.
Students are then given the opportunity to solve professional challenges
by working on projects in small groups.
Rationale
The purpose of these conferences is to help participants strengthen
their leadership and team-building skills and to apply these skills in
completing an assigned group project.
Areas of professionalism addressed
Creativity and innovation, service orientation, commitment to
self-improvement of skills and knowledge, conflict resolution,
leadership
