UPDATE
This year, APhA-ASP received 41
submissions to the APhA-ASP PharmFlix Video Contest with the theme of
"Share Your Story." A panel of student pharmacist judges reviewed all of
the submissions and narrowed it down to a list of the "Top 15"
videos.
Each APhA-ASP member is allowed one
vote for the video that you believe is best submission. Voting
closes on January 27 at midnight PST. The video with the most votes will
receive our APhA-ASP PharmFlix Academy Award, and will be announced at
the APhA-ASP Awards Ceremony during the APhA2012 Annual Meeting &
Exposition in New Orleans, LA. The Top 10 video finalists (as voted upon
by you) will receive certificates at the APhA-ASP Awards Ceremony and
will be recognized throughout the Annual Meeting during the APhA-ASP
Sessions.
Review the top 15 videos and submit your Vote by Jan
27th.
BACKGROUND
You are invited to participate in APhA-ASP’s
PharmFlix Video Contest! This year’s theme is inspired by APhA
Executive VP and CEO Tom Menighan, who encourages the student pharmacist
seeking to illustrate why pharmacists are important to the health care
team to “Share Your Story.”
The PharmFlix short film platform has proven to be a popular and
creative way to advocate for our profession. These films play
online throughout the year, exerting their influence well beyond the
Annual Meeting and APhA-ASP Awards Ceremony. Your efforts at relating
the professional knowledge, compassion, and vision of the pharmacist,
whether in the setting of patient care projects, grassroots advocacy, or
the workplace, can inspire an enhanced perception of the
pharmacist’s role in patient care.
This is an opportunity to “Share Your
Story,” to share what the practice of pharmacy means to
you. We are today’s student pharmacists, shaping the future
of pharmacy in patient care, and “This Is Our Story”.
DESCRIPTION
These short public service announcements (PSA) can be of
various genres including, but not limited to, documentaries, parodies of
pop-culture, commercials, music videos, and movie trailers. You are
encouraged to work with your chapter members to create your PSA. One
video submission per campus.
In keeping with the theme, “Share Your
Story”, you must include either “We
are…(enter your names), and this is our
story.” or “I am…(enter your
name), and this is my story.” The placement of
this phrase is up to you.
The Top 10 winners will receive certificates and will be recognized
during the Awards Ceremony of the APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition
on March 12, 2012. The first place winner will receive the PharmFlix
trophy. The top 10 videos will also be showcased during the 2012 APhA
