APhA-ASP Standing Committees

The majority of the Academy's work is done through four standing committees--Awards, Communication, Education, and Policy. These four committees, with similar responsibilities, exist also within the APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management (APhA-APPM) and the APhA Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science (APhA-APRS). Duties which are common to the standing committees are outlined here.

Members of the standing committees play an important role in representing members' views to the Association. Each Academy standing committee meets once a year at the Association's headquarters. Recommendations for the Association from each committee are taken forward to the corresponding advisory committee; Communications, Education, Honors, and Policy.

The Chair and Vice-chair of each relevant standing committee serve on the advisory committees. The advisory committees address the concerns from each of the Academies and recommend actions to the Board of Trustees.

ELIGIBILITY
All APhA-ASP members are eligible to apply for a standing committee position and are appointed by the APhA-ASP Executive Committee during the January Business Meeting.
