Positions
Chapter Delegate to the APhA-ASP Midyear Regional
Meeting
At the APhA-ASP Midyear Regional Meetings, each chapter appoints or
elects a chapter representative and alternate chapter representative who
will represent the chapter at the closing business session. This
representative will cast the chapter’s vote for candidates for
Regional Delegate, Regional Member-at-large, and MRM Coordinator; the
proposed issues from the policy proposal forum report, and any
miscellaneous business. This representative will be responsible for
reporting back to the chapter on the proceedings.
Chapter Delegate to the APhA-ASP House of
Delegates
Each APhA-ASP chapter is represented in the APhA-ASP House of Delegates
by one chapter delegate, with an alternate delegate as backup. This
delegate votes on proposed resolutions and national officer elections.
The chapter delegate and alternate delegate must attend the mandatory
delegate orientation at the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition.
Member of the APhA-ASP Regional Nominating
Committee
Each chapter names a representative to serve on the Regional Nominating
Committee at the MRM. This committee reviews the candidates at the open
candidate review and then interviews all the candidates during a closed
Nominating Committee meeting. This committee is chaired by the Regional
Delegate who presents a slate of candidates at the closing business
session.
Member of the APhA-ASP National Nominating
Committee
Nine student members are appointed by the APhA-ASP National Executive
Committee to serve on the APhA Annual Meeting Nominating Committee.
These members consist of one member from each region and the committee
chair. The APhA-ASP Immediate Past President serves as an ex officio
member of the committee. This committee observes the candidates at the
Open Candidate Review and then interviews all the candidates during a
closed Nominating Committee meeting. The Nominating Committee presents a
slate of candidates at the Second Session of the APhA-ASP House of
Delegates.
Member of the APhA-ASP Credentials
Committee
Four student members are appointed to this committee by the APhA-ASP
National Executive Committee. The committee certifies chapter delegates
to sit and vote in the APhA-ASP House of Delegates.
Secretary of the APhA-ASP House of Delegates
One APhA-ASP member is appointed by the APhA-ASP National Executive
Committee to serve as Secretary during the APhA-ASP House of
Delegates.
Member of the Student Pharmacist
Editorial Advisory Board
Eight APhA-ASP members (one from each region) are appointed to the
Editorial Advisory Board of Student Pharmacist to review each
issue of the magazine after it is published, to review selected articles
before publication, and to provide ideas, feedback, and information to
the magazine’s staff.
Potential members are identified by the APhA-ASP National Executive
Committee, selected by the editor of Student Pharmacist, and
approved by the APhA Board of Trustees. The term of membership is one
year. To be considered, contact an APhA-ASP National Executive committee
member, the APhA-ASP Staff Liaison, or the editor of Student
Pharmacist.
Member of the Pharmacy Today and JAPhA
Editorial Advisory Boards
One student member serves on each of these advisory boards each year.
Potential members are identified and appointed by the APhA-ASP National
Executive Committee to serve on this board for a one-year term.
Responsibilities include identification of potential writers,
determining content and reviewing articles.
APhA-ASP Ad-Hoc Committees
APhA-ASP members are also appointed by the National Executive Committee
to serve on special committees and task forces formed by APhA as
needed.
