Multimedia tutorials explain basics of HCR, Medicare
KaiserEdu.org offers in-depth slide tutorials explaining the health
care reform process and the ins and outs of Medicare.
When engaging in the ever-present health care reform (HCR)
discussions, it’s always helpful to take a refresher course in the
basics. Kaiser has provided two narrated slide tutorials to provide
members with the fundamentals of health care reform and Medicare
through KaiserEdu.
“Process
of Health Care Reform Legislation” takes the participant on a
virtual journey through the “nuts and bolts” of the steps
required to pass HCR legislation in 111th Congress. Narration by Alan
Schlobohm, senior program administrator with the Henry J. Kaiser Family
Foundation, is coordinated with slides that identify key HCR players in
Congress, explain their roles in the process, and review the rules and
procedures involved in passing legislation. President Obama’s
agenda is also outlined as it pertains to reform efforts.
"Medicare
101: The Basics", discusses the role Medicare plays in the lives of
millions of Americans. Narrator Tricia Neuman, ScD, director of the
Medicare Policy Project with the Kaiser Family Foundation, explores
current fiscal issues and other problems with the system that may come
into play in the future.
