History of APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists

2009 marked the 40th Year of the APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP). Currently, more than 30,000 student pharmacists from each of the 113 schools and colleges of pharmacy nationwide are members of APhA.

APhA-ASP has played a key role in helping students navigate through pharmacy school, explore careers in pharmacy, and connect with others in the profession.

›	Professional Development Resources/Benefits Drug Info-line Content: Drug news for APhA members. Frequency for student pharmacists: Available online. Mailed monthly during your final two years of pharmacy school. Focus Xtra Content: Official APhA e-mail. Frequency for student pharmacists: E-mailed every Monday to all APhA members. JAPhA Content: Official peer-reviewed journal of APhA; provides information on pharmaceutical care, drug therapy, diseases and other health issues, trends in pharmacy practice and therapeutics, informed opinion, and original research. Frequency for student pharmacists: Available online, published 6 times a year. Pharmacy Today Content: Extensive coverage of advances in medications, therapies, and patient care and also tracks health care-related policy, legislation, and regulation. Frequency for student pharmacists: Available online, published monthly, you can request USPS mail copy. Student Pharmacist Magazine Content: Official APhA-ASP student magazine. Frequency for student pharmacists: Published and sent via USPS 6 times a year. Student Pharmacist Connection Content: Official e-newsletter of APhA-ASP. Frequency for student pharmacists: E-mailed the first Friday of each month.
