Chapter Highlight – University of Minnesota

On the Twin Cities campus, a successful example of creative programming is their annual “Pie-in-the-Face” contest.  This fun activity helped raise money to send pharmacy books to students in less industrialized countries through PharmaBridge.  “Pie-in-the-Face” is a “win-win” opportunity of involving both faculty and student pharmacists as potential pie targets and involves participation across the whole college.  To raise even more donations student pharmacists created a buy-out option, allowing the person to bid themselves out of being “pied”.  This activity was attended by over 130 student pharmacists and faculty, and raised $350 for Pharmabridge.
