›› Special Report: 2009 H1N1 Influenza – An Update for Pharmacists - The World Health Organization recently announced that a pandemic of 2009 H1N1 influenza virus was underway. Pharmacists in all practice settings interact with patients on a daily basis and will be expected to educate their patients about 2009 H1N1 influenza virus and the importance of vaccination to prevent potential life-threatening disease, as well as administer the vaccine when it is available. Pharmacists will also play an important role in recommending appropriate treatment for people infected with 2009 H1N1 influenza virus. Developed by APhA specifically for pharmacists, this activity provides 1.5 hours CPE credit.

 ›› Preventing Common Drug Therapy Problems Involving Pediatric Cough and Cold Medications - This newsletter reviews common problems associated with nonprescription pediatric cough and cold product use, and provides targeted counseling tips. This activity was developed by the American Pharmacists Association and is supported by an independent educational grant from the Consumer Healthcare Products Association. It offers 0.5 hour of CPE credit.

›› What's New in the Pharmacologic Management of Cardiovascular Disease? - This Highlights Newsletter summarizes strategies used to manage risk factors for CVD and describes key components of recent national guidelines for the pharmacologic management of chronic stable angina, peripheral arterial disease, and secondary stroke prevention. This activity was developed by APhA and is supported by independent educational grants from Abbott Laboratories, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and Gilead Sciences. It offers 1 hour of CPE credit.
