Pharmacists Emerging as Interdisciplinary Health Care Team Members

This is the 5th edition of the MTM digest. The digest, based on survey results from providers and payers about MTM services, has been tracking this information for the profession and other stakeholders since 2007. Highlights of this edition include
- Medication therapy management (MTM) is on a growth curve with 70% of providers who replied stating that they have more patients receiving MTM in 2012 than in 2010.
- Thirty four percent of providers also that they expect an increase in the number of contact opportunities in 2013.
MTM services are now being provided in integrated care models, such as accountable care organizations and medical homes. MTM is the most commonly provided service in an integrated care model followed by patient education and provision of drug information.
